Third level education grants

I'm considering going back to college this year or next to study surveying as a mature student. I have a primary degree already but want to retrain. My primary degree was in the UK for which I got a grant from my Education board in the UK, but I've been working in Ireland for 6 years now and was wondering if I was entitled to any grants from here?
Would I need to study in Ireland or could I study in the UK if I was eligible for financial aid from Ireland?

Grants and funds available for mature students

If you wish to enter or return to third-level education and you are over 23 years of age Irish colleges and universities have places on their courses for mature students. You will have to consider the costs of fees and maintenance depending on whether you are going to do a full-time or a part-time course. If you are leaving work to study full-time you may be eligible for a third-level maintenance grant. If you do not qualify for a maintenance grant and you are doing a full-time undergraduate course you may be eligible for free fees. (If you are applying for an undergraduate course you are not eligible for a maintenance grant or free fees if you have already completed an undergraduate course.)
If you are applying for a postgraduate course you will have to pay fees unless you get a maintenance grant. You will also have to pay fees if you are intending to study part-time or do a distance learning course. If you do have to pay fees you may be able to get tax relief at the standard rate.
The website studentfinance.ie has detailed information on the range of grants and funds for students in further and higher education.

Are you going back full time or part time? Grants are only available to full time students. You get tax relief on fees if not getting a grant or your paying for night courses.
It is your local area county council that provide the grants. You would have to be attending college in Oreland to get it. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the help. I would be returning to full time study, rather than part-time, and I would be giving up my job to do so. The plan was to do another undergraduate course as my first degree was in another subject other than surveying, and I was planning on studying in the Uk, but now I'm not sure this is a viable option without a grant.
