Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the following:
We have been renting out our house since last January to two couples without much hassle. They keep the place spotless and pay on time, we get any repairs done or answer any concerns they have in super quick time. Their contract was up this month and we asked if they intended on staying or going. They asked for a €50 reduction in rent but we said that we could not as it was already very competitively priced. They agreed to another 6 month contract at the existing rent.
The rent is due tomorrow and we got a message from one of them that their employer messed up their wages and could they pay the majority tomorrow with the remaining €50 owed to be paid next week. Considering the amount he is looking to not pay tomorrow is the exact amount of a reduction they were looking for, are they trying something on? Any advice welcome
Thanks
