Taxing of Gains on Scrip Dividends

How does one calculate the CGT on sale of Scrip Dividends?

I get confused between what value I should attribute to the 'cost' of these shares, is it the Gross amount of the scrip issues i.e. before witholding tax, or the Net amount i.e. after witholding tax
