Taxback on toll charges

I pay over €31 on toll fares every week to get to and from work.
i was told recently that i claim taxback for this fare.

can anybody tell me if this is true and how i might go about getting it back?
any help is appreciated.

I have never heard of tax relief for such expenses. As far as I know commuting expenses to and from the normal place of work are not tax deductible.

not even because i would use it during the day to get to and from different jobs ( work mainly on the road)? could my employer not put it through for tax relief?

if the company reimburse you then that would be different

I get paid for mileage but don't get reimbursed for toll charges

Sounds like it could be. Worth reading those tax briefings for more info. Note that I assumed from your original post that these expenses were incurred travelling to/from your home from/to your normal place of work as opposed to being incurred in the course of your work itself (e.g. going off site from your normal place of work or "base" office).
