I am a PAYE worker where all my income up to 2014 was through my employer. In 2015 I did a small amount of work as a consultant resulting in a single payment of ~€6K.
Given the above I registered with revenue/ros as a chargeable person to allow me to do a self assessment.
I am a complete newbie to ros / self-assessment, so two questions I would appreciate any advice on are:
1. From going through the form 11 field it seems pretty straightforward to fill out, however I am wondering if it is naive to try to fill this out oneself as opposed to employing an accountant.
2. Would anyone have an idea of the cost range an accountant would be for such a task.
One final question, for someone in my situation, how is the preliminary payment for the current year calculated e.g. is it just on the non-paye based income or on my entire year's income??
