Does anyone know if you are entitled to claim tax releif on professional fees such as an Architect or Engineer?
I go an extension last year and am wondering if there is any way to claim back a portion of the fees due to home improvements.
Long shot but any comments appreciated.

Sorry, just to clarify, are you working as an architect or engineer or do you want to claim tax relief on fees paid to an architect or engineer in relation to your home?

If the latter, the answer is no, at least in the vast majority of cases.

Yes, it's the latter.
I've paid fees to an architect and engineer when getting some home improvements and was wondering whether I could claim back tax relief on their fees.

You should keep receipts as it should be set off against the gain for any calculation of CGT when you sell.

If you deal in peoperty professionally and it is a rented property then perhaps you may get a credit against property income. Otherewise no releif afaik.
