Tax Relief on professional courses

Hi Guys

Im a soletrader and signing up for a Project Management course in Dublin Business School. Cost is high at 2k but if I can claim tax relief as its part of my training for the business Ill go for it

Can somebody confirm that I can submit this as a tax deductable expense if im a soletrader ?

If the course is incurred wholly and exclusively for the purposes of the trade - yes it is an allowable expense

I doubt if the revenue would accept a claim that the cost of a course in Project Management is an expense incurred wholly and exclusively for the purposes of trade.

It is training to allow me to carry out my trade so thats good enough reason to claim relief on it I reckon
