tax relief on legal bills.

Hi,
my friend was taken to the labour court by a chancer.the labour court ruled in favour of my friend.my friend was still left with a legal bill of 4,000 even though he had done nothing wrong and was targeted by a scumbag.now he will have to pay his legal people this bill for defending his name and very small buisness.can he claim anything on his tax bill?

If the case related to his business then he will get a tax deduction for the legal fees. If he is registered for VAT, he can reclaim the VAT.
