tax refund

am going to go to oz and was wondering if i worked in jan and feb could i still claim my tax back for 2006 if im going to be out of the country for over 1 year or should i leave my job at the end of this tax year( at the end of dec). will it make a difference?

If you work till Dec you will have used all to credits for the year and there is nothing due back to you.

If you work in Jan / Feb any tax paid to that date will be returned to you
Effectively you can earn 5 times your credits and get all tax paid (PAYE)
AFAIA you cannot reclaim PRSI paid.
