Tax Refund

I just received an unexpected cheque in the post from the Revenue. I filled out a Form 11E for 2010 because I buy shares through work. I did not expect much of a difference in the balance. In the past they have either refunded or demanded an extra 1 or 2 hundred euro.

This time the refund is almost half of what I normally pay in PAYE. I have gone back through my copy of the Form 11E I submitted to make sure I haven't overstated any medical expenses etc. but I can't see anything wrong with it.

Has anybody else picked up a refund of this magnitude?

It happened me once, and it was a mistake and I had to give it back.
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

First thing to do it to go through the balancing statement and see if the tax credits are correct.
