Tax Refund Calculation?

I am entitled to a tax refund as I was made unemployed in November 2009. I want to work out how much I will receive but all I can get from citizen information is the variables that are used in the calculation but not the calculation itself:

The amount of tax refund will depend on:
  • The length of time you have been unemployed
  • The amount of tax you have paid
  • The amount of tax credits you have used
  • The amount of your weekly social welfare payment
Anyone know how to calculate the amount due?

Thanks

basic rough approach would be in your position:

1. File a tax return for 2009 for period 01/01/09 to 31/12/09
2. Include:

Gross pay per P45 x
Job Benefit x(13 euro a week exempt)
Total Income x

Calulate tax x (using tax bands)

Take off
Single Person credit x
Paye Credit Credit x
Rent Credit X
Tax paid on P45 x

Refund x

www.revenue.ie will give you appropiate bands/credits.

assumed above you are single person
