I've a colleage who worked here briefly, paid emergency tax, and then left Ireland. They are now fillng out their P45, and it asks for bank account details which they do not have.
If they leave this section blank, how will they be paid - cheque?

thanks

Is it a Form P50 they're filling out? Employer completes P45. You should be able to put foreign account details on Form P50 once it's within the SEPA area. If you leave bank details blank, I assume they pay by cheque.

Yes, sorry, it's a P50. They live in India so not SEPA. I'm assuming cheque too but trying to get this right so the form gets dealt with without any problems, because there's a language barrier which doesn't make it easy for them

There is an address abroad for correspondence on the form P50. I'm 95% sure they'll send a euro cheque to that address. For peace of mind, ring the Revenue and ask - the contact numbers are on the back of the form.
