Tax Rebate ?

Hello folks,

If a person in employment found themselves on illness benefit for a period of last year, lets say from September through till January shouldn't they be entitled to a partial refund of tax paid over the first 8 months of the year given that the tax they paid would have been based on that person working 52 weeks of the year ? And if so how does one go about claiming such a refund ?

File a tax return on Form 12 with the Revenue Commissioners. They will make any necessary adjustment.
