My wife is shortly going on Maternity Leave. Her maternity leave is up on 6th January 2020, but is taking extended leave until May or June. Her maternity leave will be paid be Welfare as she is a contract worker.
Currently we are jointly assessed at within the 70k band. My question is that while she is on Maternity Leave, will I be subject to the "Jointly Assessed with one Income" ie €44k tax band during Maternity and for Extended Maternity?
