I spent 6 years working overseas (non-EU) for an engineering company and am currently working for the same company from home. I am now thinking about leaving this company and want to understand my tax liability when I am refunded the benefits I accrued while working abroad.

The benefits are in two parts:

1.
While on "International" status, I was paying a fixed percentage of my income into the company pension scheme. This would be refunded in full if I quit.

2.
The company will pay me the equivalent of one month's salary per year of service (so, a total of 6 months salary) as a seperation lump sum.

My question is: am I liable for full Irish tax on the above if they are paid out to me ? It was all accrued while I was working abroad.

Can anybody help on this query please ?
(Before anyone jumps on me, the posting guidelines say that bumping is acceptable, if nobody answers within a few days)
