I have a tax liability for 2010 & I am not sure how to proceed, I have been unemployed for the past 16 months . At the point of departure my employer owed me money due to bonus agreements. Some of this money was off set against a company vehicle which was transferred into my name some months after my departure, as such this was not put through the PAYE system. It is my understanding that I have until the 31st October to settle up with the revenue. But how does one proceed,

is there a specific form one should fill out,

is it possible to meet with someone out of the revenue to discuss payment methods/ options

if the liability is not paid of in one go, does this prevent one from obtaining a Tax Clearance cert & therefore prevent one setting up a company.

Thanks

A first point of contact would be to call or email the Revenue helpline. I had a similar situation to yours, I emailed them, had a conversation, and never heard anything back - I assume the amount of tax due wasn't worth the bother of collecting. This was back in 2005, mind... might be different attitude now!

You could also call into the local Revenue office. Details on their website.
