Tax implications if one spouse working abroad?

My husband is currently out of work so I use both our tax credits and marginal band.

If he got a job in the uk or middle east, flying back when he can, what are the tax implications?

Would I have to give up his tax credits? Would he have to declare his income here or just pay the tax required in country of work?
