Hi

I have a few queries in relation to the completion of Tax form 12. I would appreciate if you could help me as I need to send back the form. They are as follows:
1. On page 4 they ask for Gross Amount of Taxable Income. Does this refer to the Gross income less tax credits or gross Income only
2. On Page 4 they request Gross Deposit Interest on which DIRT was paid. I have a few deposit accounts and paid maybe about €100 or so in DIRT. I dont have an exact record. Is it acceptable to overstate the figure in favour of revenue for the purposes of this section.
3. The same with dividends. I would have recieved a very small amount maybe a few hundred euro max. Can it be over stated in favour of revenue as I dont have exact records.
4. On Page 13 Item 60 the ask for 'Amount of Owner Occoupier Relief' What is the amount refered to? Is is 1. the value of the benifet or is it the amount the tax credit is increased and rate band increased
5. On Page 16 they ask for the annual cost of the relief. Is this the value of the benefit.

Finally I am a PAYE worker the only reason I am completing this form is to claim tax relief on a pension payment made. Therefore is it necessary to complete sections of the form that is already updated in tax terms ie. for instance the rural renewal relief - I am already recieving it so is it necessary to complete this section?
Thanks for your time.

1. Gross income only

2. Accurate figure is required. Contact your bank or building society to clarify the 2012 amounts.

3. See answer 2.

4. Owner Occuper relief is due on rental income on properties in certain locations. The calculation method to determine the relief is available on the Revenue website. The relief is available as a deduction against your rental income and rolls over each year. It has no bearing on your credits or rate band.

5. Yes

6. You are required to complete all sections of the form that apply to you. If you leave out a credit or relief such as rural renewel relief that is applicable, it is deemed to be a written declaration you are no longer entitled to the relief, and it will be withdrawn.
