Tax for casual temporary work

Bit complicated but....

It's been years since I was an employee with a company, was self employed for past 2 years, business is gone and I am currently on social welfare.

I signed up with agency as a temp and have been offered temporary work for 3 days next week. I'm delighted to be getting it, not so much for the money, but to have something more current on my cv and I'm hoping that a more permanent position could arise from this.

I told social welfare who said to give a letter saying how much I was paid and if the casual work becomes more regular then to sign on as a casual worker with the social welfare office.

My question is: What happens with my tax? My husband has my credits, I don't want mine back as it makes more sense for him to have them as he is in full time employment. I'll earn about €200 for 3 days work, will I be taxed on this and if so is there a way to avoid being emergency taxed - especially if this casual work does become more regular? I've tried getting though to local tax office but no joy so far.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks
Becky

Fill up revenue form 12a on your first day at work and post it to them ASAP. You will need your employer's Reg. No.

Or perhaps revenue will accept it if you phone with the date you start work and Reg. No

Thanks for replies.

I will fill out form and will fax it to tax office, won't get paid for a few weeks so might have some breathing space to get this sorted first!
