Tax Credits - SO Confused

Hi,

I'm hoping at least one person can help me understand my tax credits:

Married with 1 income. According to Revenue online my tax credits are:
  • PAYE Tax Credit - €3660
  • Personal Tax Credit - €3660
  • Service Charge Relief - €206
  • Medical Insurance Relief - €2231
This totals: €9,757

This is where I get confused because my payslip is giving me Tax Credits totalling €440.64 for every pay period. I get paid every 4th friday = 13 times per year.

€440.64*13 = €5,728.32

Why is there such a big difference in the tax credits on the revenue compared to the tax credits in my salary?

Any help or advice is much appreciated :)

Married with 1 income, so you can't have 2 PAYE tax credits, just 1830
Personal tax credits, you can claim both if spouse no income 3660
Service charge relief max €400 @ 20% 80
Medical Insurance Relief now given at source --

Total 5570

So there is something else you are getting credits for, to bring up the total to €5728.

Are you not eligible to claim the Homecarer tax credit for your spouse?

If your medical insurance is paid by your employer then you will have a medical insurance tax credit of 20% of the gross policy charge.
