Tax advice regarding working 4/5 days and time in lieu as way of excess payment

Hi all, I used to be on a full time contract 40 hrs, 812 euro after tax. Now with cutbacks, I have a reduced contract where I do a minimum of 3 days/week and extra days covering others holidays every now and then.
I noticed when I got paid for 3 days last week I got 741 euro. I couldn't believe how little difference considering how much I worked.

My question is if I do extra work, for example a 6 day week, it is better value to get the 5th and 6th days pay as time in lieu and not get paid the full amount directly for the work and financially would there be any real difference after tax in working 4 or 5 days?
