Switzerland Work Permit for 5 month Contract

Hi All,

Im an accountant living in the west of ireland but on job seekers allowance for the last few months. Like many others, I've applied for many jobs over the last few months. I applied for a 5 month contract role with a large company in Zurich, the feedback so far is good as they are anxious to hire someone asap and I've said that I'll be available immediately. The job spec fits exactly with my experience and I know i'd love the job and city. The job spec also states that candidates must have a work permit.....can anyone provide me with advice regarding how I get a short-term work permit for Switzerland urgently?

I would be gutted to miss this opportunity so any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Have a look here. As an EU national it's not too hard but AFAIK you cannot to in Switzerland (as a tourist) when you apply.

There are a few posters here who live there so they will be able to shed more light on the matter. Your prospective employer will also have to play ball.
