Surround sound system advice.

Hi,

I have a Samsung surround sound/DVD player system, which works really well with DVDs played in the system. In order to watch the TV through the system, I have to connect them with an optical cable, which I have. The problem is that when watching TV using the system, I start to get an occassional crackling sound which starts to appear after about 30 mins or so. As time goes on it occurs more often. I assume this is a problem with the optical cable but is there anything I can do to improve this aside from buying a new cable? Would be great to watch the Champions League tonight in SS, hence my question.

Thanks,
Brik.

Where are you getting the TV Signal from? Ariel or SKY/Chorus?
As you may know you wont get "Proper" surround sound from the TV
It will be All channel stereo.
