Hi,

My partner is on Jobseekers, claiming for both himself and myself and he works 2 days a week with it! We get 390euro a week we are struggling to meet all our bills at the moment, just wondering if we would be entitled to some sort of increase in payment or help for our community welfare officer??

Thanks!!

As your income is greater than the SWA (Supplementary Welfare Allowance) rate for your family size, you would not be entitled to any weekly top-up.

(As you haven't mentioned children, I'm assuming there are none - the SWA rate for 2 adults is 326.10pw and you've said your income is 390pw).

If you are renting or have a mortgage you may be entitled to Rent Supplement or Mortgage Interest Supplement.

There is no regular assistance with bills, as you are expected to meet these from your weekly income. However if there was a once-off unforeseen circumstance which caused the bills to be higher than normal or which meant you couldn't pay the bill, you could apply for an Exceptional Needs Payment.

You can find more information on SWA here:
