Suddenly OPF

Hey everyone,

Since before xmas my partner and i have spilt, we've 2 kids together a 2 year old and a 6 wk old.

We got over xmas quiet well as he helped with the rent but as from today he has been laid off.

I cant pay the rent and other bills by myself so it looks like Im off home to my parents. Now dont get me wrong they are the best in the world but i think ill crack up there, i've been out of home the last 6 years.

Im on maternity benefit and my employer also pays me so im not entitled to rent allowance.

I've applied for FIS but thats a long wait.

Does anyone know would i be eligible for social housing?

Or are there any other options for me?

You are eligible for social housing but its a looong wait. I've been on Dublin City Councils housing list for 5 years now and i'm still nowhere near the top. Fingal County Council is a bit better but you'll still have to wait at least 6 years. It's a joke!
