Subsistence

Hello,

Looking for some help on employee subsistence. I drive over 2000km a month with my job and i am getting around 20c per km. My employer claims they drove some of my journeys and ends up gettin a lot of my subsistence.

In the past year they have started adjusting my figures every month so that i get paid a different amount each month. On my contract it says a lump sum amount every year along with my wage.

I also noticed in their claim books they had me down as no overnight stays last month but i stayed away 3 nights.

What can i do to report in confidence this without losing my job?

Ive tried emailing revenue but there is no response.

Thanks for any help,

You can contact NERA at www.employmentrights.ie , but they won't be able to do much without contacting your employer. If you really need to sort this, the employer will have to know that you've raised the issue. Have you tried raising it with your employer first?

I am just guessing, but maybe your employer has realised that flat rate expenses as provided for in your contract should be taxed,so they are giving you slightly different amounts so as to give the impression that they are reimbursing actual expenses rather than paying a fixed amount every month.
