Sub accounts off main account - what banks provide it?

Hi all,

I'd like to open a few 'sub accounts' off my main current account. Almost like you'd set up a folder on your computer & then have different sub categories/folders within that one.

What banks (if any) provide this service?

I have a main savings account but want to add in an account specifically for holidays, specifically for new car, specifically for Christmas etc.

And yes, I know I could just keep my own spreadsheet to tally how much of each 'fund' is in the main account but I'd rather not.

do NIB do it? Can't seem to find it on the account if they do.

You should be able to open as many accounts as you like with most of the main banks ( I have a few with AIB, so I'd assume that you can do the same with most of the others), & associate them all on internet/telephone banking, so as you'd be able to keep track of them all & set up regular or one-off payments into. They would all have different account numbers & the actual accounts would be opened in your name, but when setting them up for internet use you can just name them 'holiday' or 'car' etc. , & would achieve the same goal.

PTSB does it. I have one main account and 4 sub accounts to the main one.
