Hi all,

I would like to get strip lighting for under my kitchen cabinets. Do I need to get an electrician to do this for me or should I get a handy man?

No good with DIY.

Many thanks

my mum has them and brother wired it into the actual main light switch by replacing the main stitch with a two switch piece. My aunt has one and it has the switch beside the actual light (she did have a draw string one but string on show). Handy to have switch beside the kitchen door as this light has become a full used light for dimmer light.

Both over the sink for extra lighting.

When it comes to electrical fitting better to have an electrician do the job nowadays. A handyman or DIYer could do it as it is not a particularly complex issue with a lot of outlets available in a kitchen. But you need to be sure you can stand over it for proper earthing etc., but even more so in an environment like a kitchen. As you say you are not a DIYer but unless you know a particularly good handyman that you trust I'd get the sparky.

Hi,

Think I will get an electrician to do it for me.
