If you had bought $1,000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth
$49.00. With Enron, you would have $16.50 of the original $1,000.00.With WorldCom, you would have less than $5.00 left.
If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the stock) one
year ago, drunk all the beer, then sold the cans you would have $214.00.
Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and
recycle.
While in the USA recently I noticed that many drinks cans/bottles carry a refundable deposit in many states but that most people chuck them in the garbage anyway... :\
Can't remember. I think it was a nickle (5c) or dime (10c) in most states - maybe 15c in some states. Coincidentally, the dime is the only US coin containing no indication of how much it's worth and it took me a process of elimination to figure out that it was actually 10c!
