Statutory redundancy for 70 yo

My uncle's job has gone into liquidation, he is 70yrs old and had worked there for 22 years.

The workers are getting statory redundancy of 2 weeks a year.

Someone in the job said due to his age he is not entitled to statory reduncency.

Is this correct or should he also get statory payments,

To be eligible for a redundancy payment under the Acts, you must satisfy the following requirements:

• You must be aged 16 or over (if your date of redundancy was before 8 May 2007 you must have been aged under 66 to qualify for a redundancy payment)
• You must be in employment that is insurable under the Social Welfare Acts at any time during the four years prior to the date of redundancy. (The insurability requirement does not apply to part-time workers - see below)
• You must have worked continuously for your employer for at least 104 weeks (2 years)

66 Age Cap removed
Under Section 20 of the Protection of Employment (Exceptional Collective Redundancies and Related Matters) Act 2007, the age cap of 66 years for entitlement to Statutory Redundancy has been removed. Employees who have reached 66 years of age and whose date of termination is on or after the 8th May 2007 are now covered by the provisions of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 to 2007.
