Spouse deciding to give up work - What happens

My Spouse is seriously thinking of leaving full time employment.
What benefits are open to us.
Has been in full time employment since 1990.

Not much if you are on any sort of half decent wage. Since Charlie introduced Individualisation you can only transfer some of your tax allowances between you. You MAY be able to claim some 'Home Carers Tax Credit' [broken link removed]
 
ah the curse of the decent wage .... damn that college education ( and free at that )
