The following plans are worth considering which include cover for child speech therapy and occupational therapy.
1. Precision 600 Create; price 258(upto 30/6/2018 or 237 from 1 July 2018). All public, selected list of private hospitals and some hi-tech
hospital cover included. Private inpatient excess 600 per admission. Good day to day cover, 30 x 8 visits to child speech therapy, 30 x 5 visits to an occupational therapist, 30 refund per gp visit, 80 per consultant visit.
2. Precision 450 Create; price 236 upto 30/6/2018 or 226 from 1 July 2018. All public, selected private hospitals and some hi-tech hospital
cover included. Private inpatient excess 450 per admission. Good day to day cover as per above. 30 x 8 child speech therapy, 30 x 5 visits to
an occupational therapist, etc.
3. Simply Connect Plus; price 280; all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private excess 150 x 1 max per year for all admissions.
Good day to day cover, 50% refund for child speech therapy unlimited visits, 50% refund for all occupational therapy visits, gp + consultant
visits, etc subject to a max refund of 1000 per year for all medical expenses.
4. Control 600 Secure; price 218 upto 30/6/2018 or 209 from 1 July 2018, all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private excess
600 per admission. Good day to day cover included, 35 X 8 child speech therapy visits, 35 x 5 occupational therapy visits, 40 refund per
gp visit, 100 refund per consultant visit. etc.

Note; VHI do not cover child speech therapy, only adult speech therapy is covered. VHI does cover occupational therapy visits.
Re child speech therapy, the exception to the rule is plan PMI 38 14, child price 530 per year. Speech therapy allowed 40 refund x 2 visits per year.
Occupational therapy visits; 40 refund x 12 visits per year.
Re Laya cover for children, one adult also has to be on any Laya plan. They do not allow children onto a policy on their own.
VHI are the only provider to allow children to be insured on their own without an adult.
Plans 1 + 2 + 4 above would suit children that would normally just use the public hospitals as the private hospital excess is high at 600 or 450 per
admission. Plan 3 above would suit children who need cover for private or hi-tech hospitals with a low excess of 150 max per year for all admissions.
