Soybean attic/roof insulation

I have just had a rep with me selling soybean insulation fo rmy roof. The u-value is 1.6 which is good. It's IAB approved. 'Reasonably' priced. Sprayed in between the rafters. Breathable.

Should I ask any other questions?

Has anyone used or had experience with it? Positively or negatively?

This is a guy working on his own. If you don't mind, I'd rather not publish his name.

I just got Soybean insulation from shannon insulation (google them for details) based in Killucan Co Westmeath. These guys are on the go since the 70's so they have plenty of experience with all types of insulation.
Regarding certification their product is approved in the UK and approval is pending with IAB.
I had 9" rafters fully filled with this stuff and I have to say its some job. Its sprayed in as a liquid and expands almost like shaving foam. The product is an open cell product so will allow the roof to breath. Also the house seems very airtight as this stuff is in every single nook and cranny unlike the rigid boards or rockwool.
I haven't got the inoice yet for the job (house is approx 3300 sq ft) but I'm expecting around 6k for the roof and 2.5K for pumping the cavities. Incidently they used a different type of foam in the walls a product called aerolite.

pudzer, i would definitely ask to see a copy of the IAB cert... you should even be able to post the cert number here, his identity would stay private.

The reason i ask is becaus ei havent heard of an open cell foam insulation being IAB certed yet.

there no link to any BBA cert on the shannon insulation website, do you have the BBA cert number?
and the aerolite product is similar to the rockwool 'energysaver' product which is basically 'blow-in' quilted insulation with an additive that drys to form a solid bonded material.
