Soundproof door

Hi,

What the best type of soundproof door (and door frame) for the hall door of an apartment The corridor can be quite busy and it sometimes seems that people are in my hall when they're talking in the corridor.

I have been told composite doors have the best insulation so presumeably more sound proof I have one ordered and it wont be delivered for a few weeks so can't confirm this yet.

Heat insulation and sound insulation have nothing in common Im afraid, sound isolation is all about mass ie the heavier a door is the better. Fire rated doors should be good, the longer the fire rating the better.

Also making sure the door is fully sealed will help, ie draught strip the door as tight as possible
