I will have a new shower room adjacent to my sitting room . Can anyone recommend the best sound insulation I can get, & where I could get it.

Think our builder put in "rockwool" acoustic insulation within the stud wall for the same type of job. Check the rockwool site maybe.

what sort of construction are you using? timber frame?
Use independent studs for the shower room walls and the sitting room wall.
Rockwool in-between.
Use an acoustic plasterboard on the sitting room side - you'll have to have WBP ply for the shower room or possibly water resistant plasterboard.
Make sure all holes are blocked and avoid having any electrics etc. in the wall.

The shower is not adjoining the sitting room so its not that bad.
So rockwool in between the studs.
Acoustic plasterboard on the sitting room side.
Is this adequate?
I do not want to close up the whole thing & find that I hear the person next door singing aloud in the shower.

Just off the topic, I have an existing extract fan with a 2 inch white plastic pipe to the outside of the dwelling. Is this acceptable for extraction of the condensation, no windows in the showerroom.
