Is a sound engineer a good choice of career?can anyone help me with this please.

I'm guessing you mean SE in a music sense - it's usually the route to producer which if you are good, can be very lucrative.

Obviously, openings are limited (in this country in particular) and the few opportunities there are are much more likely to be in the production team of a radio station - not dealing with music but sound quality, production values, levels etc.

Check with that rock school place - Ballyfermot is it?

Ask the colleges that run courses in it, if they have an stats on their past pupils and the numbers doing it.

sorry...i am asking about sound engineering in the music area such as studio engineer . .can anyone tell how hard it is getting a job in this area and what the pay is like?
