A few questions for you.....
1. What is the best flooring to use upstairs. Considering red deal, and oak but open to suggestions.
Anyone reccomend a particular brand or place to shop for flooring.
2. Like oak doors does this mean you have to go with oak architrave etc?
Would you need oak trroughout down to skirting boards etc.
3. I have two quotes for a stairs red deal costing about 4k and oak costing 10.5k....is it worth the extra to achieve a good finish or what does red deal look like?
4. Has anyone ued wood block flooring in an area with hig volumes of traffic?
Does it look good and wear well.
I would appreciate any help.

Moved into our new house recently and we went for the white oak doors, skirting boards and window sills and they really are the biz compared to what the builder puts in. We just paid the difference between the white panel doors/deal skirting boards etc. Worked out about €6000 including the door handles. Well worth it though.
We also put down a white oak solid floor in sitting room and it is fabulous. Porcelain tiles for the rest of the ground floor.
Upstairs we put carpet except for little ones room where we sanded the floorboards and put a clear varnish on it. This came up really nice as well.

I would highly recommend solid wood doors e.g. the white oak.
Hope this helps.
