Hi, I will be purchasing a new double eye level cooker and extractor fan shortly, and so far I am just boogled by all the different jargon. My needs for cooker are basic - I want one big enought to cook a christmas dinner :), and one the is energy efficient.

I have an absolutely useles extractor fan now, so I want one with actually removes the smell of cooking and that is not so noisy, also of course energy efficient.

So if anyone can advise on what specific things I need to look for, I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks.

As for noise, you'd probably need an external motor to keep the noise down. Drumms just off the naas road have a big selection, though prices can be extreme!! It might give you ideas. For my circumstances, we went with a downdraft solution and an external motor, it does the job fine (but really only for the two rings nearest to the extractor), but with the situation we were in, we are happy with it etc...

Fan oven and self-clean would be the most important factors IMHO.

Can't stand the noise from most extractors.

If you run the search option you should find some previous threads with recommendations for brands. Repair guy mentioned NEFF as being the best.
