Hi

Has anyone had to use a solicitor to top up mortgage? If so, how much were you charged?

Do you need a solicitor?
For example FA have no legal fees for Top Ups

You do need a solicitor - what FA are doing is covering the cost. I was quoted €78 by IIB for solicitors fees for a top-up - Maybe the solicitor you used to purchase in the first place will do you a better deal?

€78?? Is that all!! I thought it was going to be a couple of hundred! Thats grand then! My solicitor isnt in the office today, will see what she quotes tommorow and get on to IIB! Thanks Glazer :D

Up to €20,000 IIB do unsecured top ups where the fee is less than €100 - over €20,000 the deeds have to be stamped so you're looking at €300 or so plus any outlays.
