Solicitor recommendation for first time buyer

Can anyone recommend a number of solicitors that dont charge excessive fees for first time buyers?

Anything useful ? There are other more recent topics dealing with the same issue if you browse back through the various pages in this forum (don't bother with the search - it's still crap).

Is Dermot Deane still the cheapest of the lot ? He used to be €850+VAT. Phone number is 01 231 4600.

€1,300 + VAT + incidentals isn't cheap at all !!!!!
 
Used Dermot Deane in December 2003, he was still the cheapest then. Very efficent and no problems though he can be a bit rude and doesn't want you ringing him. Was told on one occasion "Don't ring me, I'll ring you"
 
I dealt with them recently - nothing but good to report. E-mail very useful in cutting down phone calls to a minimum.
