Check with the Department of Social Welfare. There is an enterprise allowance scheme (back to work scheme) whereby, if you qualify, you may be able to keep your dole and other secondary benefits for up to 4 years. The dole goes down to 75% yr2, 50% yr 3, etc.. Your local county enterprise board can also help. Indeed the leader programmes have also funding and you may qualify under these schemes also. My advice is to get researching, dont commence trading until you have all the knowledge and dont be put off by the paperwork. Some of the stuff seems huge but when you actually get doing it you could complete everything in a days work. The benefits though can be huge. Also business network - attend your local 'Coffee club meetings', talk to everyone.
