I wonder if anyone can assist with my query.

My husband is getting benefit in Ireland. I have been on maternity leave and now unpaid leave. He is claiming for me as a dependent, If I decide not to return to work, will he lose his benefit?
 
No, he would only lose it if you return to work and your earnings are over the dependent threshold of earnings.
 
Really? I thought that he would lose 9 weeks because I am turning downgoing back to work.
 
It is not your claim; he is the one who is declaring that he is looking for work, not you!
 
Wow. Thank you for that. I can now happily resign from a job where I had to put up with a lot of stress and be at home with my kids. Really appreciate your help. x
