Getting quotes for automated gates to be fitted, cost of gates is extra, quotes are just under 3k with a 2 year guarantee for mechanical to 3750k with 1 year guarantee, for hydraulic, but which type is best and why, whay are quotes so high. makes i have been recommened are FAAC hydraulic, and AAC mechanical. I have run cables to gates myself. I know it will involve 2 trips, eg put down motors, wait for drive to be tarmac'd, and new gates then return to do wiring, both give 2 zappers, intercom. One of them quoted 750 euro extra for the mobile thingy.

Gates are 6 ft each leaf, galvanised, powder coated, about 5 ft in middle.

just an update, the €3,745 quote was for electro mechanical. KAAC 770 model. As I have no peers yet the guy explained that fitting would involve about 3 trips out. I was surprised with only 1 year guarantee and he would not budge on price. I did a check on iternet an kit can be sourced for about €1,300 euro, a big mark up but it did sound labour intensive and he covered all the tricky bits.

Will get a few more quotes and may decide to kill it dead if too pricey. I ahd alid cables to gate myself so expected less than 3 k all in.

Where did you source the kit on the net, might be interested in doing a diy job myself at home.

Just got a quote for underground gate system inc audio intercom ,one house phone,two remotes €2,800 the brand is "amefrog"

I just did a quick search on AMEFROG and got nothing! Have you got name correct?

I am not sure yet if they will sell direct or trade only. I am also not sure of all the bits you need. But looks a good price. I'm too old to DIY the installling.

Does that price for the CAME frog include vat or is the vat extra.

vat is extra @13.5% as he is fitting so inc VAT total €3178
