Slogan availibility

Hi,
Im thinking up a slogan for a new business.. Can I find out if its is use? I googled away and nothing came up.. I know the likes of "Just Do It" by Nike are copyrighted. If for example I was to use say "Tastes Good" and a company had it in their tag line or promo ad..may I still use it? Thought there may be a website to check this..?

You could also check out the irish patents office.

http://www.patentsoffice.ie/eregister/Query/TMQuery.aspxhttp://www.patentsoffice.ie/

do a search for the whole slogan or part of the slogan.

Then you could try the World intellectual property organisation

http://www.wipo.int/portal/index.html.en

and do a search here.

After you have done this you could apply for a trademark on your slogan it is €70 application fee for one class and €70 per class after that. Just look at similar trademarks and copy some of the class wording for the application.

Or you could use a trademark agent to do the search for you
