I bought an inch thick slate (2ft * 3 ft) platform for my fuel burning stove and I want to stick it to the floor. The floor is a wooden floor on screed. I plan to cut a large hole in the wooden floor and out down 10mm worth of floor adhesive (used by tilers) and stick the large slate to that adhesive. Will this work ?? Is there any other way to do it ? I do not want to create a concrete step and tile it.
