Has anybody had a visit from Sky offering to test your signal and then test the signal and say the signal is strong but the reception is weak. Then look at your Sky dish and the old dish is rusty which to be fair has been in for 5 Years and we live near the sea and apparently this has reduced the reception.

The offer is to replace the Sky rusting dish with a new Teflon dish for a price.

Are you getting the required channels OK? If you are then why meddle with the existing installation?

As far as I am concerned all the channels are fine. I have searched the internet nothing on Sky deals or teflon dishes.

I do plan to contact Sky direct and enquire on the specification of dish installed

OK I have carried out some research and contacted Sky Ireland.

First I believe my partner got Teflon crossed with Titanium, easily done I suppose and I am sure you could cook in some of the dishes.

Titanium dishes are less prone to rust however, better signal, Sky do not installed them, it appears some independents do. The dish itself doesn’t really fail just the LNB.

So until my dish falls of the house and is unusable I will keep on using it
