Hi,
I am looking for some clarification on the installation of Sky+, bearing the following in mind.
I am a long term sky subscriber and bought a Sky+ box through ebay as a replacement for my old box which had died. I connected up the new Sky+ box ok, and inserted the viewing card, and without having to contact Sky, my Sky subscription works fine. This is where I get a bit confused.
I called Sky and was informed that to get subscribe to Sky+, I would need to have a land line and also a 2nd sky connection (2nd LNB). The LNB I have, but the landline I dont. Is there anyway around this? Can I set up the box in a friends house with a phone and then bring it to mine?
Also, possibly a stupid question, but just out of interest if the box is connected to a landline, can Sky use that to check to see where the box is located? I have a friend in Geneva who is looking to upgrade to sky+, but is afraid that if he was to connect to a land line, then it would locate him outside of ireland... Possible?
Thanks
