During the high winds on Friday night my Sky dish was moved and now we have no TV (except a fuzzy RTE1 and 2). I was on to Sky to organise a dish re-alignment but they want to charge me €100, which I think is ridiculous.
Does anyone know someone that will do it for (a lot) less? I'm living in Maynooth, so anyone around north Kildare would do.
We were getting very bad reception when it rained fairly heavily. They wanted to charge us €100 for coming out to check the alignment/ position of the dish. I told them to come and take the whole thing away that I wasn't paying them €100 to sort out their own equipment and I was terminating the contract as a dodgy reception was no good to us. They agreed to charge us nothing in the end, they called out and sorted out the problem and it works perfectly now. Ring them up again and tell them your reception is poor and you're thinking of getting rid of Sky unless they can sort it out - see what they say.
Thanks for the advice. Tried that and they passed me over to the credit department to cancel the account!! So I hung up. I guess I will still have to find a local person to do it as I would like to keep Sky.
The cancellation dept are on targets to stop cancellations - they will ask you questions about why you are cancelling - and they may well offer you a free call out to keep you as a customer.
