Siteworks cost

For my siteworks my builder says I will need 8 days work with two men working to complete my site works.

Thats 1 guy in a tractor and 1 guy in a tractor. Excluding cost of stone what is a decent price to pay for this job?

i.e. 2 guys working for 8 days one using a digger the other using a tractor.

Anyone give me a decent estimate for west of Ireland.

Take the digger guy to be €40/hour and the tractor guy €35. Only an estimate might be a bit cheaper might be a bit dearer by a few euro!

It has tracks! I take it that means more expesnse??

Slightly more expensive by the hour maybe but would get at least twice as much work done thus working out much cheaper. If its a big site with plenty of working space make sure the digger is upwards of 15/16 tons weight as work capacity increases with machine weight for not a huge extra cost. I concur with E40/E35 for digger/tractor. Anywhere within a few euro for these would be about right. You should really try to get a price though.

Probably not, at least they should be quoted as plus VAT. VAT is only 13.5% though. Haggle mad, plenty of plant doing nothing at the moment.

Mac still try to get a quote, otherwise 8 days could turn into 16 days once youve agreed to pay by the hour. Unless you trust him completely, that is.
