Single mum going back to study

Hi all. just looking for some advice if you have any...Single mum with 2 kids, thinking of going back to become a beauty therapist full time 2 yr course. I currently work full time as a Sales manager for a cosmetics company. Not sure where to start.....Starting course in FAS.. what benefits am i entitled too....Rent allowance? (how much) loan parent etc

If you're starting the course through FÁS, then they would be best placed to advise you on any entitlement you may have.

To be eligible for one parent family payment u have to apply within 3 months of splitting from ur partner.
If u are entitled to Opf u must be doing a full-time course and if u will be entitled to Ra then u can only be doing a part-time course,,,bit of a catch 22.
There are grants, think u have to be earning below €18,000 the yr before u apply. But its worth checking out at ur local authority.
